The Regent Theatre has announced that Stoke-on-Trent’s favourite panto duo Jonathan Wilkes and Christian Patterson are back for this year’s pantomime and will be setting sail on a brand-new adventure this Christmas.

Taking over the stage from Friday 9 – Saturday 31 December 2022, Jonny Wilkes will star as the hilariously entertaining Smee while Christian Patterson will be playing the iconic Captain Hook. The dynamic duo will be bringing back the laugh-out-loud comedy Stoke audiences have come to expect from the region’s favourite funny men in a comic reimagination of the Peter Pan story, The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan.

In what will be his 18th season at the Regent Theatre panto, Jonny is no stranger to the stage. He has enjoyed a varied career including lead roles in Chicago, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls and Grease, and held hosting duties onYou’ve Been Framed and Love on a Saturday Night on television.

Jonny Wilkes said: “Being back on-stage last Christmas in Cinderella was a truly magical experience, and I can’t wait to return to my hometown again this year for what will be my 18th year at the Regent Theatre. It’s a brand-new title for myself and Christian, which means a new show full of new jokes and routines that is sure to make it the best one yet.”

Christian Patterson stars alongside Jonny in the stage partnership that delights Stoke audiences year after year. Having trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Christian’s extensive list of stage credits include The Woman in Black, Journey’s End and Oliver!

Christian Patterson said: “Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas for me without The Regent Theatre Pantomime! I love Stoke, I love its people, I love The Regent, I love Jonny and I love Pantomime! It’s panto perfection for Patterson! I cannot wait to be back on that stage in front of old friends and new and making you all smile from ear to ear. I promise you that our magical Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan will be another Christmas Cracker!"

Brought to audiences by the World’s biggest pantomime producer, Crossroads Pantomimes, The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan will feature all the madcap mayhem Stoke audiences have come to expect from The Regent’s Christmas spectacular, with spectacular special effects, stunning song and dance and plenty of audience participation.
