A free one-person performance of Dr Dolittle will be heading to locations across Stoke-on-Trent this March to bring young imaginations to life.

Families are invited to set sail with Dolittle, Dab Dab, Che Che and a very special crew on an adventure to explore new lands, help the animals and maybe even talk to them too.

The interactive 35-minute performance suitable for children aged 4+ hopes to encourage families to embrace their creativity and go on a mini-adventure whilst visiting Stoke-on-Trent. The story has been adapted by the New Vic’s Head of Education Jill Rezzano, writer of many of the New Vic’s popular Christmas Tale Trail adventures.

It will be performed at the following locations throughout March:

  • Saturday 9 March, 11.00am & 1.30pm, Middleport Pottery
  • Tuesday 12 March, 10.30am & 1.00pm, Newcastle-under-Lyme Library
  • Wednesday 13 March, 11.00am & 1.30pm, Stoke Library
  • Saturday 16 March, 10.30am & 12.30pm, City Central Library, Hanley
  • Sunday 17 March, 11.00am, Emma Bridgewater Factory

Jill Rezzano, New Vic Head of Education and Director of Dr Dolittle said: “This is a timeless adventure for all the family and best of all the children help to make it! We’re really looking forward to taking this show out on a tour across locations in Stoke-on-Trent and encouraging families with young children to come into the city and take their imaginations on a magical journey with us.”

The project has been supported by Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s City of Imagination funding, funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Tickets for Dr Dolittle are now on sale and available to book through the New Vic Theatre Box Office on 01782 717962 or online at newvictheatre.org.uk.
