Worcester is hosting a citywide celebration of food & drink this autumn.
Running from Saturday 7 to Sunday 29 October, Taste Worcester is being described as a ‘culinary melting pot’ of set menus and special experiences, all available at ‘unbeatable prices’.
The tastebud-tantalising event is organised by Visit Worcestershire and Worcester BID, with the very best of the city’s restaurants, bars & cafes all accessible via a downloadable voucher on the Visit Worcestershire website.
For those in search of an elevated dining experience, Worcester boasts a selection of riverside restaurants, including Diglis House Hotel, with its magnificent views and a menu of locally sourced and seasonal dishes, and Browns, serving up a global menu and fresh fish specials to delight discerning palates. Centenary Lounge, meanwhile, will transport diners back in time with elegant afternoon teas and classic English and continental dishes inspired by the original 1930s GWR Railway Dining Car menus, served up in stunning Art Deco style.
More traditional fayre can be found at Cardinals Hat, in the form of hearty, award-winning pies and cobs, and the JNCTN café is a cool and casual spot for delicious all-day brunches, lunches, homemade cakes and locally roasted coffee.
For families seeking a pitstop and good food for all ages, an array of eateries and coffee shops promise a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Script Haven, Worcester's independent bookshop and coffee shop, blends literary charm with delectable brews and cakes, providing a cozy corner for avid readers and coffee aficionados to savour.
Global gastronomes will find a world of international flavours at South American haven, Chesters, with a menu of Mexican delights, vegetarian and vegan options and Worcester’s largest tequila collection. Not forgetting the authentic taste of the Mediterranean at Olive Branch, traditional pizzas and pastas at the city’s newest and hottest Italian restaurant, Valentinos, plus modern French brasserie food at Côte. Don’t miss out on a visit to Tokyo inspired eatery, Maneki Ramen, which serves modern interpretations of Japanese noodle bowls, from within a repurposed railway arch.
Firm local favourite Burger Shop is one of the city’s most acclaimed eateries and alongside an eclectic menu of burgers, they also offer a delicious range of shakes, with the ‘must try’, Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake!
