A selection of new shows are about to go on sale at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre including the West End sensational cult musical Bonnie & Clyde and the 75th birthday special of The Sooty Show.
From Tuesday 5 - Saturday 9 March is winner of Best New Musical (WhatsOnStage Awards 2023). The West End smash-hit Bonnie & Clyde is set to hold-up Wolverhampton following two hell-raising seasons in London’s West End. Two small-town kids from the middle of nowhere became the biggest folk heroes in all America. They craved adventure - and each other. Their names were Bonnie and Clyde. Fearless, shameless, and alluring, this award-winning production has garnered a mass following, much like the infamous pair themselves. On Saturday 28 October captures seventy minutes, seven seasons, one Spike. Fresh from an award-winning run at Edinburgh Fringe, this fast-paced new production of Buffy Revamped brings you the entire 144 episodes of the hit 90s TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as told through the eyes of the one person who knows it inside out… Spike.
On Sunday 21 January sees spectacular high-pitched celebration of timeless music from one of the biggest selling groups of all time. This nostalgic musical journey pays tribute to the life and career of those four boys from Jersey, who started singing under a street lamp but soon went on to become one of the most recognised groups in history. From the streets of New Jersey to the dizzying heights of the West End and Broadway, this incredible music has delighted audiences for over five decades. On Sunday 10 March, a musical biopic tribute about the so-called “quiet” Beatle is back following it’s hugely successful 2023 tour which celebrated what would have been George’s 80th birthday. All Things Must Pass, they say. Well, George Harrison’s name will live on forever. From the creators of Something About Simon – The Paul Simon Story, a brand-new show that will answer the question “where does life take you after being in the greatest band in the history of the world?” Starring West End actor and musician Daniel Taylor, Something About George tells the truly remarkable tale of one of music’s most understated icons. Featuring a five-piece band performing beautiful songs such as My Sweet Lord, Something, Got My Mind Set On You and Handle With Care, the show includes incredible solo material and music from rock n’ roll’s greatest supergroup, The Travelling Wilburys – not forgetting more than a few Beatles’ classics along the way.

However, in true Sooty style nothing goes to plan! The party preparations are well underway: Sooty gets messy baking the birthday cake, Soo’s trying to find the perfect party dress, and Sweep’s practising his dance moves and needs some boys and girls to join in with musical statues! Sooty is planning his biggest magic trick yet making a member of the audience float in the air! Oh, and watch out for Sooty’s new water pistol. It’s turbocharged to reach right to the back of the theatre, so don’t forget your raincoat! The special guests are on their way – Butch the bulldog, Ramsbottom the snake and circus superstar Michael Jordan, who joins direct from Blackpool’s famous Tower Circus to stun us with his jaw-dropping juggling.
