Belgrade Theatre have announced details of some of the high-profile comedy acts who’ll be playing in Coventry in the next 12 months.
These include Nabil Abdulrashid (2 December 2023), Guz Khan (28 January 2024), Fascinating Aïda (22 & 23 February 2024), Stewart Lee (24 & 25 February 2024), and Frankie Boyle (27 February 2024).
Live at the Apollo star Nabil Abdulrashid will bring his “unapologetically funny” (Telegraph) show The Purple Pill to the Belgrade’s B2 auditorium on 2 December 2023 at 7:45pm. Abdulrashid has previously appeared on shows including Have I Got News for You, The Big Narstie Show, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Unapologetic. The show, about trying to be a good person while staying a badman, is an exploration of empathy, morality and political contradiction.
Big-screen persona and BAFTA-nominated Guz Khan will take to the Belgrade’s Main Stage with his stand-up show Guz Khan Live! on 28 January 2024 at 7pm. Guz is the creator and star of BBC’s Man Like Mobeen and has appeared on shows including Taskmaster, The Last Leg, Live at the Apollo, Would I Lie To You, QI, Four Weddings and A Funeral, and movies Army of Thieves, The Bubble and How To Date Billy Walsh.
Britain’s raciest and sassiest musical cabaret trio, Fascinating Aïda, will celebrate 40 years on the road with their 40th Anniversary Show tour – which heads to the Belgrade’s Main Stage on 22 & 23 February 2024 at 7:30pm. Fascinating Aïda have racked-up millions of internet followers, performed in the world’s most prestigious venues and been showered with awards and plaudits since they sashayed onto the scene back in 1983. Marking this astonishing milestone, the show will feature much-loved favourites and some wickedly hilarious new songs.
Stewart Lee will return to the Belgrade’s Main Stage in 2024 with his new show Basic Lee on 24 & 25 February 2024 at 7:30pm, having sold out his 2023 performances at the venue. Dubbed “the world’s greatest living stand-up” by The Times, after a decade of ground-breaking high concept shows involving overarched interlinked narratives, massive sets and enormous comedy props, Lee enters the post-pandemic era in streamlined solo stand-up mode.
Frankie Boyle will bring his Lap of Shame tour to the Belgrade’s Main Stage on 27 February 2024 at 7:30pm. “Frankie Boyle’s on tour. Buy a ticket, because by the time he arrives, the currency will be worthless and you and your neighbours (will be) part of a struggling militia that could probably use a few laughs.”
