Kick-start February half-term with Guinness World Record holder, The Highland Joker for The Bubble Show on Tuesday 21 February. The Bubble Show is a unique blend of magic, storytelling, and bubble art. The Highland Joker, is one of the top bubble artists in the world, bringing you an interactive, fun, international award-winning bubble extravaganza.
Why not bring your baby for a bounce with singer Sam Frankie Fox and multi-instrumentalist Ricardo Rocha for BAM: Babies Adventures in Music on Friday 24 February. BAM is a warmly interactive performance for babies, families and friends that celebrates music with a host of instruments, styles, gentle movements and stimulating sounds. A mix of familiar and new music comes to each months’ sessions, building on your babies’ previous interaction and giving them more chance to learn and to grow.
Wi-Fi Wars brings you a live comedy game show where you all play along - log in with your smartphone or tablet and compete in a range of games, puzzles and quizzes to win the show, and prizes! Join mac for 2 sessions on Saturday 25 February.
Keeping it innovatively creative this half-term mac have Art Club Camp Spring Edition. Join artist tutor Benny Semp from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 February for a special 3-day camp full of exciting yet practical art and craft workshops. Children will explore Grayson Perry’s Art Club: The Exhibition III, their week starts with a private VIP tour of the exhibition. This course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years. It is open to all ability levels and children don’t need previous art and craft experience.
From Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 February mac have Puppet Making Camp. Learn all about the art of making puppets; from shadow puppets to marionettes and more, with professional creature maker Tom Ellis.
One for all the family this half-term is Family Pottery Birds. During this one-day course, participants can explore the world of clay together and learn how to make hand-built pottery inspired by their favourite birds, all in MAC’s fully equipped ceramic studios. Join mac on Tuesday 21 February.
Discover the wonders of artistic expression this half-term with Grayson’s Art Club by Sir Grayson and Philippa Perry. The exhibition features over 100 artworks selected by Sir Grayson & Philippa, plus guest celebrities such as Birmingham’s very own Joe Lycett. As seen on the popular TV show Grayson’s Art Club, the show brings the nation together and encourages people to get their hands messy through art! Children and young people can explore the exciting and endless possibilities when creating their own art. Be sure to check out the ginormous knitted Sandringham. Also discover Ben Wilson’s aka The Chewing Gum Man’s painted chewing gum artwork. Explore how many pieces you can find around MAC - showing until Sunday 23 April.
If you do visit the exhibition and fancy a bite to eat after, be sure to visit independent Café KILN for a Grayson-inspired Afternoon Tea - offering a selection of fresh sandwiches, delicious sweet treats and tea/coffee with a twist, also occurring until Sunday 23 April.
