A major new arts and music offering at Hockley Social Club is ‘opening up’ cultural experiences for UK audiences, alongside an acclaimed food and drink offering at the centre of the newly revamped space.

The popular Birmingham nighttime destination, on the 10,000 sq ft site of a former industrial printworks in the historic manufacturing district of Hockley, will mark its fourth year with a substantial line-up of academics, artistic organisations, comedians, DJs, musicians, and speakers.

The city’s renowned Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) will perform to sell-out audiences at the 900-capacity venue, also home to the newly revamped sleek performance and event space, the 150-capacity Artum.

Hockley Social Club has curated a 2024 programme that will enable fans of diverse cultural experiences to access world-class arts and music at affordable prices to help address the current cost of living crisis. Two months of events follow hot on the heels of appearances, performances and talks from talent including Carl Chinn, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet Presents Black Sabbath, Jay Blades and collaborations with We Out Here Festival, as well as launches from industry initiatives including Birmingham Live Music Project and Safe Queen.

In addition to hosting debuts, live shows and exclusive sets from some of the UK’s hottest new electronic music producers, DJs, promoters, and collectives, Hockley Social Club also offers award-winning food from some of the UK’s best street food traders, including residencies from Masterchef Professionals Dan Lee (Dai Pai Dong) and acclaimed Birmingham fried chicken brand Greidys.

The complex, which includes an outdoor covered terrace, three bars, four kitchens, and a coffee shop, will also present independent lifestyle markets and NTE industry events, ensuring its place as a new epicentre of Birmingham’s vibrant arts, culture, food and drinks scene.
